WOW WOW WOW, the Big & Small Adoption Event was a remarkable success!
33 dogs and 13 cats found their homes at PetSmart PLUS 7 cats and 1 dog at the GTHS Animal Shelter. What a weekend!
Dear Robyn & Sonya,
Gilbert arrived to the shelter on May 9th with a broken humerus. Despite being in severe pain Gilbert still tried to play using his inured leg. After assessment by Dr. Levy at
Thornbury Veterinary Hospital it was decided that Gilbert would need hardware to stabilize his fracture. On May 11th Dr. Levy placed an intramedullary nail through the shaft of the humerus then stabilized it with an external fixator. Gilbert tolerated the procedure well and was discharged to my home as a foster home to recover.
Immediately after arriving Gilbert was a thriving, curious, playful kitten.
After 72 hours in my home Gilbert’s status changed…..
Balto,(he has a new name now it’s Shiloh) Is doing very very well. He has a new best friend and his name is Princeton(6 months old). They play so much they tucker each other out Shiloh is so smart, he knows how to sit and down and he also understands that I am the alfa of this pack, ( I did my research on huskies)….
If you like a warm, soft and affectionate type of kitty…..POKEY could be the boy for you! This lovely 8 year old boy was surrendered into our care after his Dad needed his own care in a retirement home. Pokey loves people and will be one of the first to greet you at our Main Cat Room door.
He loves to be stoked and give gentle head boops! He is a very easy going type of boy EXCEPT when it comes to doggies. Our boy is just terrified of them unfortunately, so he definitely needs a home that is doggie free. Other than that he is just an awesome senior boy looking for that lovely home where he can become part of the family.
