Feature Volunteer: Bev

July 19, 2017

Bev is one of our Main Cat Room cleaners, big time laundry helper and cat cuddler extraordinaire! A lot of you may not even know Bev, as she is typically here and gone before 7:30am. Bev’s got a wonderful ‘lets get it done’ attitude and is a huge part of keeping our shelter looking so clean and beautiful. Thank you Bev, for all you do for the GTHS and our furry friends!

How long have you been volunteering with the GTHS?
For over 7 years!

What keeps you coming back?
I prefer to be busy, enjoy the atmosphere, and love the cats. The facility is constantly changing, striving for new benchmarks and there are so many interesting people.

What pets do you share your life with?
Frigo, my 13 year old cat.

Are you from Collingwood?
I was born in Brockville, ON, and left when I married. It is one of the most beautiful cities on the St Lawrence River.

Which talent would you most like to have?
I would love to be able to spontaneously play the piano.

What is your idea of the best day ever?
My best day ever must be an experience in, on, or near the water with family or friends. Water is essential.

What’s your favorite past time (hobby)?
I love live theatre, travel, books and word games. I also enjoying swimming and walking.

If you could have dinner with any celebrity, who would it be?
Margaret Atwood (alive) or Richard Monette (dead)

Do you have any phobias or fears?
No real fears or phobias, though I do startle easily. Heights are not my favourite, neither is the Dentist.
